Peggy Gade Fund Raiser
by Loann Johnson
Sunday, March 29th at the Tiger Den in Lewellen, there was a fund-raiser held for Peggy Gade who was seriously injured in a auto accident. Peggy is recovering and is now in Madonna Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln.
I am sure Peggy woudl enjoy hearing from some of her friends. Write or send cards of cheer to her at: Madonna Rehabilitation Center, Attn: Peggy Gade, Rm 209, 5401 South Street, Lincoln, NE 68506.
A nice crowd of friends, neighbors and relatives attended the event.
The meal consisted of chili, potato soup and chicken noodle soup with bread and crakcers, coffee, tea and water. When you were full of your favorite soup, there was a huge table of all kinds of desserts such as pie, cake, cheesecake, brownies and more. It was really hard to choose your favorite.
Everyone was busy eating and visiting with others.
There were amny items on the bid board auction tables. You could check them out and place your bid. Butch Dykes was the auctioneer for the day.
There were items such as a bicycle, ceiling fan, Oster kitchen appliance, things for the young and old adn the list goes on and on.
A lot of community people did a great job putting it all together, the cooking, baking, set up serving, etc.
What a great community we live in. When there is a need, there are so many who come forward to help in some way wheather it be financial or services.
Please take a minute to drop a line to Peggy, hearing from those at home helps the time go by and she woudl so enjoy hearing from you.
